Big Brother 10
Sunday, 7/13 at 8pm ET on CBS
If the new summer season of CBS' longtime reality hit "Big Brother" is anything like it's just-concluded winter season, you can expect lots of plotting and backstabbing, drunken and naked escapades in the backyard, and all kinds of verbal smack-talking between the house guests. In this reality show, people enter the house and then through a series of challenges and competitions, a Head of Household is named each week. That person nominates two house guests for eviction, and one is then sent packing based on the other guests' votes. The last person standing wins a cool $500,000. Not bad for being a hamster in a cage, as the house guests can't leave the house or have any contact with the outside world (save the weekly appearance from host Julie Chen). You get to see these people at their absolute worst, and all the time as there are 24/7 Internet feeds and "after dark" shows on Showtime. Let the games begin!

The show, now in its fifth season, follows Dog and his posse as they risk their lives daily chasing down fugitives and venturing into the seedy, drug-infested neighborhoods of the Aloha State most visitors have never seen. Dog, a one-time convict, isn't legally allowed to carry a gun, but he can sure shoot a mean spray of Mace. Monk
Friday, 7/18 at 9pm on USA
Monk will see some changes to the show when it returns for a seventh season (though we’re sure the obsessive compulsive detective isn’t thrilled with change.) After the tragic death of actor Stanley Kamel, who played Monk’s therapist, Dr. Charles Kroger, this spring, the show has decided not to replace his character with another actor but will instead introduce a new therapist to be played by Emmy-winner Hector Elizondo. If only this new therapist knew what he’s in for with a patient like Mr. Monk ... he probably wouldn’t want the job. The 16-episode season will air in two parts, with the first half airing this summer and the second half set to begin in January.
